Update on Projects

Kory just recently laid the concrete floor for the garage.

Concrete for the side of the garage.

This was a lot of work and Kory is exhausted. He also is suffering from a sinus infection and toothache. Time to rest.

Before the cement, Kory worked on our landscaping and went to a BLM pit and gathered some lava rocks for our front yard.

Placing the rocks.

It was a lot of work moving the dirt around and getting things ready for the cement.

The kids had a lot of fun outside watching their daddy.

We went over to Jared and Michelle's home for a Bar-B-Que on Memorial day. We ate and watched movies.

We have to stop working on our garage for a week or so because we have another big project lined up. We are changing some things in the Master Bathroom. We are going to do some major remodeling by switching our toilet to where the shower is and moving the shower to where the toilet is so we can make a walk-in tile shower. We were not planning on doing this till the garage was done but our friend from high school who does tile work for a living is coming up to help us and can only come during this one week. We decided to go for it.

Prepping the bathroom for a mess ahead and lots of changes.

Demolition time. Kory likes this kind of work.

Kory has a lot of plumbing, wiring, and wall moving to do.

Kory's Big Project

We are making some big changes around our home. We are doing some new landscaping and making our garage bigger. To save quite a bit of money and to give Kory something to do, we are doing almost everything on our own. It has been fun so far and a lot of work and we have dirt everywhere, but it will be great in the end.

Kory rented a digger so we can dig out the footings for our garage extension.

I even was able to help a little by digging out some dirt for a new sidewalk.

This is where our new sidewalk and landscaping will go some day. We are curving it from our back yard to the front. This is the before picture.

This is the after picture and it still looks like this.

We had a little help from some professional cement layers to help with this part of the cement. McKay really liked watching the cement truck come to our home. Now the rest is up to Kory. He is going to build the rest. What a project!

Motorcycle

Leif and Julie gave us this motorcyle many years ago when McKay was just little. The battery never worked and McKay was afraid of it for a long time so it just sat in our garage along with Kory's motorcyle. Finally one day Kory bought a battery for it and McKay just loves it, along with the other kids in the neighborhood.
