What a Weekend

This was from last Sunday. I was trying to make cookies for choir and to take to neighbors but the cookies turned out very flat. I don't know what I did wrong other than the weather made them flat. Both the Oatmeal and Chocolate Chip Cookies turned out flat. It was a waste of time and stress.

McKay helping me make cookies. He liked to spin the bowel and then lick the beaters when we were done.

Well the old big screen went to TV Heaven yesterday. For months the channels were slowly becoming fussy so we knew it's time was close. It was working fine in the morning and then when Kory went to turn it on later that afternoon, nothing. He took it apart and said it was a gonner. It is now time for Dad to buy a new flat screen and we will take his other TV off his hands. Charles has also offered to have us buy his. As for this one, we decided to slowly tear it apart and throw it away piece by piece.

We had quite a Saturday. The day was rough for McKay. In the morning I was changing his diaper and he was messing around and hit his mouth on the bottom of our rocking chair. It bled right away and hurt. He ate breakfast fine but when we went to Olive Garden to eat lunch, he tried eating a breadstick and hurt his mouth agian. The rest of the day he was crying, drooling profusely (not swallowing his saliva), not eating, not drinking, and not talking at all. I wanted to take him to the ER but we decided to wait to see if he would slowly got better. Not until 10 p.m. that night did we finally get some Tylenol in his mouth, a smoothie from Sonic, and a few crackers. Our prayers were truly answered by the Lord and it seems he is getting better. We still do not know what is wrong but hopefully nothing too serious.

We also watched our friend's children and played outside in the nice 80-degree weather, this kept McKay's mind off his mouth.

Fun in the Sun

The last couple of days it has been nice and warm outside and we have taken advantage of it. We had playgoup on Wednesday and went to a park. Our playgroup is turning out really well with lots of people coming now. It has been a great way to get to know other women in the ward. Thursday McKay and I went kite flying and soccer playing.

At the park. McKay took his favorite doggie with him who also went on the slides and swing and just about everywhere with McKay.

The Boise River is very high this year and at flood stage. The park we went to was right next to it so I got some pictures. It is fast moving water that is very high. Many parts of the park area were covered with water.

I love the Dollar Stores. We bought 2 kites there worth $1. I thought they would break or rip easily but this one held up really well. The wind was pretty strong and it flew really well. When I got it down it looked great wit no tears. We got a great bargain.

Easter

The Saturday before Easter, our Ward had an Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt and Crafts. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from it and Easter Day pictures.

Eating Pancakes.

Everyone gathered to go outside for the Egg Hunt.

McKay has his basket that his Grandma Hall gave him a couple of years ago.

Hunting for Eggs.

Unfortunately there were so many little kids and parent's screeming for their kids to grab the eggs as quick as they could, McKay only ended up with about 5 eggs. All the eggs were gone within 30 seconds. It was crazy.

They also had crafts that I helped McKay with. Here we are making a carrot out of Cheetos.

The other craft we did were mini pots that we painted and then put a flower in them. McKay really had fun with this one.

McKay playing ball with a friend while Kory and I were helping to clean up.

Easter morning. We spread eggs around the house and also bought a few presents. McKay was so excited about his bike he did not care at all about hunting for eggs.

Taking his first ride outside on his tricycle.

We went over to Jared and Michelle's house that evening. McKay had a lot of fun playing with the kids. Here they are dancing upstairs in the toy room.

The Day Before Vacation

Here I am working on the blog.

McKay wearing his new summer pjamas.

Suprisingly, McKay fit himself in this tiny basket and watched his shows while in it calling it his bed.

The day before we left for our vacation, we babysat a boy in the ward. His name is Shawn. McKay has a really hard time with him and sharing his toys.

After we babysat Shawn, Chase came over for a few hours to play. McKay did so much better with Chase and it was fun to watch them play. They were like best friends and were so kind to each other and played the while time. It was great.

Here they were taking turns unlocking and locking the file cabinet with some keys.

Here is our stuff packed and ready to go for our trip to SLC.

McKay did really well on the trip down to SLC. He watched his shows and ate candy and was very happy.

Salt Lake City

We took a trip last weekend to SLC for one of Kory's niece's baptism. We needed a little vacation so got work off and away we went. We traveled on Friday afternoon and arrived in SLC at 6 p.m. We spent most of the night searching for a Deseret Book to get his niece a baptism gift but strange enough could not find one in 2 Malls and the Distribution Center was closed. We just ended up at Hallmark in the end. We ate at my favorite place that night at Cafe Rio (YUM!!). We stayed at Charles and Stephanie's home (they were not there because they went down to Southern Utah for the weekend). It was really nice of them to let us stay there. However, it was a little miserable for me. Soon after we got to their home, my nose started dripping, eyes itching, and sneezing. I quickly found out that I was allergic to their cat (like so many other family members) plus I had a cold and allergies from spring time. It was quite miserable. However, McKay loved their cat and played with him every second we were there. On Saturday we went to the baptism and ate cake and talked at a park right next to the Church. After that, we ate with Kory's brother and sister-in-law at a famous Chinese restaurant called P.F. Chang. It was very yummy and fancy. We had a lot of fun with the company we were with. We relaxed in the evening and left early Sunday morning so I could get back to direct Choir Practice. It was a nice vacation.

The cat loved to cuddle.

Eating at P.F. Chang. I got the Crispy Orange Chicken.

Arriving at P.F. Chang.

McKay coming down a slide.

The park we went to had a wall to climb and McKay was a natural at it.

He made it to the top.
