Valentine's Day

We kept things simple for Valentine's day as I was working that day. I did, however, sqeeze in some time to make a nice dinner (I only do things this extravegant on Valentine's Day). I made Samon over rice, honey-glazed carrots, bread, salad, and cream puffs for desert. It was very nice and McKay even took a longer nap that day so we had time to enjoy the meal together alone. Kory bought me a much needed new toaster for my gift.

The Weekend Is Here!!!

We had a good and relaxing weekend. Our weekend was also packed with church activities and responsibilities. Kory helped clean the Church early Saturday morning and I played my flute and sang at a Stake Baptism. We ate out in the evening at TGI Fridays. On Sunday we went to Church, Kory went to meetings, and then we went over to Jared and Michelle's to celebrate Michelle's sister Becky's Birthday and to say goodbye to them before they left on their big trip next Saturday.

McKay loves his LeapFrog pad and plays with it all the time. He is working on his alphabet and sings with all the songs.

Stake Conference and Missionaries

This last Sunday we had Stake Conference and received much information about the temple and it was a wonderful two days. We also had the missionaries over for dinner that night. Poor Kory had to miss almost the entire SuperBowl. He got to see the last part of it though. It was great to have the missionaires over. They shared with us a spiritual message about sharing the gospel and helped give me more of the desire to find someone to give the Book or Mormon to and to be excited about the gospel. It is hard to explain. I was a very spiritual and wonderful weekend for us.

Eating dinner. I made a lot of food and I felt like it was too much but the missionaries kept eating and taking seconds and thirds. It is probably because they missed lunch because of Stake Conference that made them so hungary.

We had a wonderful time sleeding. It was sunny and actually hot. We had to take off layers to cool down, even McKay was sweating. Hopefully we will get one more chance to go in a couple of weeks before no more snow. Enjoy the pictures. These are actually pictures of us just before we were about to leave. Later in the afternoon after sledding, Kory and I went on a date and watch the Chronicles of Narnia (very good movie, and my favorite not one swear word that I detected). We picked up McKay from the Stauffer's, who watched McKay for us, and ate dinner at Carl's Jr. McKay had fun in the playground area and with the help of two older Mexican boys that spoke half English and half Spanish helped McKay go through the maze of fun. It was hard to get him to go home.

New Computer and Life at Home

Well, Dell sent us our new computer (a model up from ours as we heard they dicontinued the model we originally had, hmmm). We are pretty sure we solved the restarting problem the original computer had. When we got the new computer, Kory first had to switch the CD-ROM drives as they gave us a combined burner and CD-ROM but we wanted it seperate, so he switched the two. Then he put the Micron memory he got from work into the new computer. All was well for a short time but then the new computer restarted too!!!! So Kory played around for awhile and found that it was the memory causing the problem. We came to the conclusion that the original computer had the bad motherboard right off and restarted the computer when we first got it, then Kory added the memory a little while later. The bad motherboard must have corrupted the components on the memory and possibly other components in the computer. Then we got the new motherboard but still had problems because the memory was bad. We threw that memory away and the new computer has worked great. We thought the old one may be okay too without the memory but it still restarted on us still just before we boxed it up to ship it back (other components must be bad in the computer somewhere). So we finally feel our computer problems are finally over after about 4 mos of problems.

McKay loves ice cream. He is like me with ice cream. He likes the berry, colorful ice creams and will not eat the chocolate ones. We bought some colored cones (pink, green, and brown). The only color he will eat is the pink. Kory tried to convince him to eat a brown cone and McKay refused. Kory said pink is a girl color and he is around me way too much.

Kind of got behind on our blog. The only big things that have really happened are last Saturday we went to a funeral for a baby. In a few blogs ago I mentioned how we watched a boy in our ward because his mom was on bed rest for the rest of her 4 months of pregnancy. Well she ended up delivering the baby too early and he passed away. It was a sad but very nice funeral. We helped clean up at the church after the luncheon and then spent the afternoon shopping and went to Jared and Michelle's house and ate dinner, played pool, and ate desert that night. Michelle also helped me out on Wednesday as she watched McKay for me as a I served in the Church Cannery (strange to many people but I love to work in the Cannery - the spirit of service is very strong there and it is fun). McKay did great at their home. Kory has been working on getting our computer replaced for over a month and finally succeded last Monday. Ever since we got our new computer it has been having problems of restarting itself in the middle of things that we are doing like work and browsing the Internet. After a new motherboard, many diagnostic tests, and after wiping out the hard drive and starting over again, it still did it. Kory finally convinced Dell to send us a new computer (yea!!! WE WILL NEVER BUY A DELL COMPUTER AGAIN AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE). We have a busy weekend ahead and ready to take breaks from our work. Had a family home evening lesson about our bodies and McKay made a heart and ears for his activity and proudly wears them.

McKay now loves to play on the computer and finally figured out the mouse. He likes to play Bob the Builder (games that Julie gave us) and Disney Channel Cartoon games on the Internet.

Snowy New Year's Eve

On NewYear's Eve morning we went up into the foothills by Idaho City (about 30 minutes away from Boise) to a winter wonderland. It only rained in Boise but up in the hills there was lots of snow. We invited Jared and Michelle but they did not have snow clothing for all of them and were unsucessful to find any at short notice. I went to clean the chuch the morning that we were going to go sledding and mentioned it to a couple there cleaning also and they invited themselves to go with us. We drove up to find about 2 feet of snow, it was deep in some places and would go up to my knees when I stepped in it. We had a lot of fun even though none of us had snow boots except McKay and we all got very wet but suprisingly not cold at all (McKay is often found in these pictures just laying in the snow and playing in it because he had very thick clothing on to keep him warm and protected). It was fun to have the other couple and their children with us for company and because they had a better sled than ours and it went a lot faster. It started raining on us though and things started getting a little slushy and we we were soaked and spent only about 1 1/2 hours there total. Hopefully the weather will be a little better and we can go again soon with Jared and Michelle.

McKay would rather just play in the snow like he was at the beach then to go sledding. He would start to walk up the hill with us holding his hand and would purposefully slip and slid down the snow on his tummy and laugh and not want to stand up. In order for us to get him to the top and on a sled, we had to carry him. It was hard work so half the time we just left him at the bottom of the hill and he happily played while we went ahead and went sledding without him.
