McKay's Birthday

McKay is now 3 years old. We celebrated his birthday by going out to dinner at the Cracker Barrel.

We then went to McKay's first movie theatre experience: Cars. He sat through it really well until all the fast driving was over then he got bored. He sat through the end again well during the last racing scene. Overall he did really well and I think he liked the movie.

McKay loved opening presents. We were lucky this year. Jared and Michelle gave us a bunch of Chase's old toys and we decided to save them and hide them away and give them to him for his birthday.

McKay really loves all his new toys. He plays with them all all day long including the ones he got from the two Grandmas and some we bought him and had them scattered around the house until I could not take it anymore and we found a proper place for them in his room.

After opening presents, we had ice cream. I was exhausted.

Here we are at playgroup. We had it at one of the lady's home in our ward who had a big back yard and lots of toys.

McKay loved the slip and slide once he saw all the older boys do it. He had his own way of just running through the water and landing in the pool at the end.

Zoo and Father's Day

The playgroup today went to the Zoo. It was half price so very crowded but still fun. McKay liked looking at the animals but only for a few seconds and then was ready to move on. He was more intrigued with the waterfalls he saw in a lot of cages than the animals. He could look at a waterfall all day.

They had a butterfly exhibit which was really neat to have very pretty butterflies fly all around you and land on you. McKay was a little apprehensive of them. We were about half way through and one landed on his back. I hurry and tried to take a picture but the camera fell out of my hands and bonked McKay on the head. He thought it was the butterfly that hit his head. Neadless to say, he cried and did not want to have anything to do with the butterflies and wanted out of there. It was too bad.

It took me months but I finally made some jam. It is very easy to make but with my sickness I was not up to doing it. Hopefully it will last us for awhile.

McKay's new thing is everytime we go somewhere and come back home, he has to sit in the car's driver seat and pretend he is driving. We will often go to Chase's house in his pretend expidition, we say Hi and Bye to Chase and then drive home. Takes less than a minute but he has to do every time.

Kory is eating his crepes desert for Father's Day. Kory also bought his own gifts this year: A hitch for the SUV (he put in himself saving money) and a shop vac.

Looks Good

Nothing has been happening much here. My sickness is pretty much under control finally. I have been taking vitamin B6 plus Unisom (sleeping pills) to fight the nausea (this is recommended by all OB/GYN doctors now). It has worked really well, just makes me extra tired. Our nightly routine: We read the scriptures as McKay's bedtime story. He does really well. We have a picture book that outlines the Book of Mormon.

We have this ugly outcove outside our front door. We decided to dress it up a bit and buy some things to make it look better and that we can enjoy. We bought this really nice bench from Home Depot.

We also bought this water fountain (pretty inexpensive) from Home Depot. (Yes, I have some of the Adams' still left in me, I really like fountains). We spend all of last Saturday looking for these items. Our next thing is to get some plants to put around it.

McKays lego man.

Sick and Behind

I have been slacking off on our blog again. I have been very sick with this pregnancy and have been behind on many things. I was doing fine 5 weeks into it but then the sickness slowly crept up on me. The worst part is I am nauseous all day long, especially when I am hungry, which is almost always but I don't like to eat anything, and when I am working because I am moving my eyes all around the screen and it makes me sick. It is miserable and have been searching for things to help. So far I have found peppermint sticks to help ease the nausea and trying to keep my stomach full all the time. If any of you ladies out there have any suggestions, PLEASE let me know what worked for you.

Gave McKay a haircut in the bathtub again and afterwards he played in our tub for an hour having fun with our detachable shower head and water coming out of it.

A picture of our playgroup that meets on Wednesdays. This was the last one that I planned and turned it over to someone else who has more time than me.

I mustered up some energy to put on a baby shower for a friend in the ward. Not many came but we still had a really fun time. We did it just in time too, the person I gave the shower for had her baby the next day.

Eating the food Kory and I made for it. I made Mom's Cherry Almond Cake which everyone at the baby shower loved and wanted the recipe. Mom's food is always a hit with everyone!

Kory brought the new TV back in one piece. It looks really good but it is actually quite a bit bigger than the old one so it takes a bit to get use to. Plus the cabinet Dad threw in is almost completely empty. We only have our VCR in it so far. I might store McKay's toys in it for the time being. We really like the TV. Thanks Mom and Dad.

WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!!!!!!!

Well, if you have not heard already, after almost 1-1/2 years of trying, the Lord is blessing us with another baby. I am due in January. We are very excited and cannot wait. For weeks I felt great and was not sick at all, just tired. However, a few days ago it started hitting me and now I don't feel well at all, plus I am very tired. The joys of pregnancy.

The bottom is the first test, line barely visible, then a little brighter, and the top one is shifted wrong and the main line is the Your Pregnant Line.

Last weekend Kory put his landscaping skills to work and put more sprinklers in our lawn. He also helped out a lady in the ward and fixed her sprinklers. However, he strained his back really bad and was in a lot of pain and could hardly move. He is better now thanks to strong pills from the doctor and lots of rest, ice, and heat. He is not built like he used to be.

McKay loved being outside to help his Daddy.

Because Kory hurt his back and could not move, we had a few picnics up stairs in our bedroom when we had dinner so we could at least eat as a family.

Looks like a new truck for us, but no. Kory rented this truck so he could drive down South and pick up our new TV from Dad and Mom. Kory has always wanted a truck so this is really great for him to drive one for a few days.

Bye Kory. This is when he left us =..- (

While Kory has been away, we spent Saturday cleaning the house, making Baby Shower Inventations for a friend of mine who I am giving the party to, and resting. It has been a pretty nice weekend but we sure have missed him since this is only I think the 3rd time Kory has ever gone on a trip somewhere without me.

Medical Transcription Week

Once a year we have Medical Transcription Week to honor us transcriptionists. The department puts together a free lunch for us. They had a fun skit, yummy food, and door prizes (which of course I did not win any). It was a fun event. Here are some pictures from it.

This one turned out fuzzy but these are some of my coworkers.

McKay came with me (he goes everywhere with me). He probably had more fun than me. Everyone at work really loves him.

We ate taco salad with chips, meat, refried beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, salsa, etc. Chocolate cake and punch were also part of the meal. YUM!!! I might make this for dinner one night.

________________________________________________

Going back to the future, we only took one picture on Saturday because we always forget to take our camera with us. It was laundry day on Saturday but we also were able to squeeze in shopping for new summer clothes (it has been 90+ degrees here the last couple of days and we are both getting larger around the waist so we need new clothes), ate out, and relaxed here at home.

Last Weekend Pictures

Late pictures, we had a busy week.
Chase came over to play for a few hours last Thursday.

McKay was really happy to see Chase. They play together really well. Maybe because they are related.

On Saturday we went to a park and had a picnic and flew our kites.

Our cheep little kites made it through this adventure but are tearing up very quickly. Probably one more time and they will be no more.

We even got Kory in on the action.

That night we ate at Sizzler's.

Yesterday we just got back from the Stake Center where Kory was set apart for his new calling as Elder's Quorum President by the Stake President. Our old Elder's Quorum President got put in as our new Bishop. Kory has been doing really good with this calling. He was definitely called of God for this new position.
