Salt Lake City

We took a trip last weekend to SLC for one of Kory's niece's baptism. We needed a little vacation so got work off and away we went. We traveled on Friday afternoon and arrived in SLC at 6 p.m. We spent most of the night searching for a Deseret Book to get his niece a baptism gift but strange enough could not find one in 2 Malls and the Distribution Center was closed. We just ended up at Hallmark in the end. We ate at my favorite place that night at Cafe Rio (YUM!!). We stayed at Charles and Stephanie's home (they were not there because they went down to Southern Utah for the weekend). It was really nice of them to let us stay there. However, it was a little miserable for me. Soon after we got to their home, my nose started dripping, eyes itching, and sneezing. I quickly found out that I was allergic to their cat (like so many other family members) plus I had a cold and allergies from spring time. It was quite miserable. However, McKay loved their cat and played with him every second we were there. On Saturday we went to the baptism and ate cake and talked at a park right next to the Church. After that, we ate with Kory's brother and sister-in-law at a famous Chinese restaurant called P.F. Chang. It was very yummy and fancy. We had a lot of fun with the company we were with. We relaxed in the evening and left early Sunday morning so I could get back to direct Choir Practice. It was a nice vacation.

The cat loved to cuddle.

The park we went to had a wall to climb and McKay was a natural at it.

He made it to the top.

Planet Kid

Here are some pictures from last Sunday.

Kory was making lunch for us because I had a headache, what a great husband.

Resting with McKay trying to get rid of my headache.

Today we went to Planet Kid with Michelle, Hailey, Courtney, and Chase and had lots of fun.

Last Weekend

These pictures are a little old. The blogger has been giving me grief for some time. I am now finally able to put these pictures on from last weekend.
We gave McKay a haircut. I like to do it in our big bathtub so the hair does not go everywhere. As you can tell by his face, he does not like to get his hair cut.

In order to get him to remotely hold still for the haircut, we have to play a show on our mini DVD player.

The end result of the haircut. Cute.

We went to Carl's Jr. for lunch. They have a fun playground.

Hard to see. Me and McKay. He is drinking all of my strawberry shake.

Years ago our sunroof broke on the Saturn. Kory, with the extra boost and encouragement from Dad, took it apart to see what was really wrong. He ordered the small little part that broke on it and here he is fixing the sunroof.

McKay loves to help Daddy out in the garage. He pretends to fix his car along with Kory fixing the real car.

Kory did it. The sunroof is fixed and as good a new (and with the new, sturdier part better than ever). With Kory fixing it himself, he saved us about $800 dollars. If we had Saturn fix it, it was going to cost us $1000.

The Boondock's

I have been put in charge of our Ward's playgroup (part of the new organization of the Relief Society and Enrichment where we have seperate group activities). We have a get together every Wednesday morning. This last Wednesday we went to The Boondock's where they have an indoor archade and Kiddie Cove playset, miniture golf, bumper cars, etc. Courtney is on her track break and we invited her to come along with us. Unfortunately when we got there, they had a sign saying they were deep cleaning the Kiddie Cove play area so we hung around the archade winning tickets and having fun. McKay and Courtney won lots of little prizes and candy. They opened the kid area 1 1/2 hours later and they played in there till lunch time. We had a lot of fun. And of course, we were the only ones from our ward who actually showed up.

McKay loved this Spiderman car and spent a lot of tokens riding it.

This was like a trampoline that they jumped on in the Kiddie Cove.

Sliding down.

Courtney found a fun swing and slide thing that none of the other kids could ride but her.

Catching Up and Cupcake Fun

Well, I got behind on our blog again. To catch up on what has been going on, Mom and Dad left us for home 2 Sunday's ago. The Sunday they left we got invited to eat dinner at our Stake President's home who live just down the street from us. We had a great time getting to know them and actually we have a lot of things in common.

The lady that owns are townhome decided to put it up for sale and right away there was an offer put on it (as there is a huge investor boom going on in Boise). This last Friday I had work off so McKay and I spent the morning and afternoon cleaning the house because the new owner was coming by to look at it. We were not sure if we were going to be kicked out or able to stay, but it looks like we are going to be able to stay, we are not quite ready to move yet. Our next hope is that our rent will stay the same and not go up.

We took a picture of McKay's clear plate because this was one of the very few times that he actually ate everything off his plate for dinner. He looks pretty full in the picture.

McKay watching Dora the Explorer.

For Family Home Evening we made some Easter cupcakes. McKay fell in love with the colorful icing and wanted to just eat it and not the cupcakes. Here he is helping me make the colors.

Mom and Dad

These have been very fun and busy last few weeks. We have had the privilage of having Mom and Dad up here with us while they took care of Jared and Michelle's children. We have tried to spend as much time with them as we can. McKay and I go over about every other morning to see them and help take care of Chase and have him and McKay play and also go over on the weekends and spend time with the whole family. It has been a lot of fun!!!

Mom and Dad came over the first night they got here and ate dinner with us in our home.

McKay loves to play with Grandma.

McKay was pretending that this basket was a car and it broke down ever other second. He liked to find tools and fix it. Here he is with his toy drill fixing it.

McKay and Chase and Courtney playing a duck game.

Courtney was a good teacher and they had a lot of fun playing it.

McKay and Chase made a giant snake out of dominos.

Picture is hard to see but we caught Grandma and McKay both playing Gameboy's side by side and concentrating hard.
